Hand forged in Rajasthan by Master Mohan, this Tradional Midrange Morchang is a combination of wonderful styles. With its very tight gaps and looped trigger, the Midrange feels like a cross between a Morchang, a Russian Vargan, and Yakut Khomus. Combining size with sound, these Medium sized Morchang will deliver a middle frequency pitch.

It combines many different traits very well and blurs the lines between them. It is loud, sensitive, and very breathy which help to integrate melodic capabilities. Sounds of outer space, techno, hillbilly rhythm will engage the artist in depth. Good combinations of clean yet slightly saturated overtones make the playing experience quite unique. The reeds are of medium stiffness. Very responsive to both slow and fast play.

The Mohan Midrange is a unique offering that imitates and blends styles from other Geographies, while reflecting a lower price than comparable Russian Vargan and Yakut Khomus. Highly recommended by The Harpery! Traditional Midrange are tuned by ear from Mohan and may not fall on a typical western note. They vary in pitch between B2 and C3# and can be tuned to the nearest whole note by choosing the “Permanent Tuning Service” from our shop.
