Karinding require a much different playing style and mindset than many other styles of mouth harp. Karinding is played against the lips and the end of the harp is struck with the finger or thumb to create vibration. If you are an experienced player of metal harps your experience will not transfer over to the Karinding. You will have to re-learn how to play. Harps with a steep learning curve, but for those up to the challenge, ancient sound and experience are in store. Very meditative for those who learn and practice this old style of harp.

Due to the nature and material of construction, tone may vary and may not be accurately tuned to western note. The tones listed are at or very near the key selection chosen. “World Tuned” Karinding selection can range anywhere from C2 to B2 and do not fall on a specific note.
