With a sleek heart shaped design, and artistic engravings, the Zelo will please the eye and the ear. It has excellent melodics, and a nice long sustain for the length of the reed. They are quite loud and do not have much distortion. As with many Vargan, they tend to respond best with inward plucks but will also take outward strikes just fine. They can be played slow and melodically, and can also withstand fast and breathy percussive beats. They respond extremely well to open close glottis techniques as well.
These Vargan will have an option for Tuning Selection: 440hz Standard tuning or 432hz Earth tuning. If you are a beginner to novice player, either selection will work just fine. If you are in search of a concert quality instrument that will be played along side other tuned instruments, the 440hz selection (if available) would suit best.
