Ghorka Tailess Brass Morchang
Ghorka Tailess Brass Morchang
This Tailess Brass Morchang is hand forged by the late Master Ghorka of Rajasthan. It is a twist on his traditional Tailess design and sounds as beautiful as it looks!
The soft and buttery sound fits perfectly with the soft metal. Brass Tailess are great for beginner to intermediate players, and is a collectors item for the avid harpist. This instrument is soft on the face and teeth, and is larger in stature than most Morchang which makes it easy to hold. The frame is designed for less hand fatigue when playing for longer durations.
Brass Tailess follow suit among Ghorka's other Tailess models with it's deep midrange pitch and long sustain. The bell rings are somewhat crisp while boasting slight saturation. It is easily played with inward or outward plucks and is great for open/close glottis techniques.
These Morchang are untuned and most fall between B1 and E2 which place them on the low end of the midrange frequencies. If you would like your Ghorka tuned to the nearest note, please add the “Permanent Tuning Service” to your cart and our in-house harpsmith will tune it and engrave the note on the back for easy identification!
