The Tailess Bass Morchang forged by Bhagvana, the young and talented maker of Rajasthan, India. It is a nice introduction into the relatively new style of Indian Morchang.

Traditionally, Morchang are higher in pitch and meant to played with faster, more melodic beats and rhythms. These Tailess Bass offer a different take on the Morchang and allow the player to slow down and get out of this world with its super long sustain. Using controlled breathing techniques and open/close glottis play, coupled with the natural melodics of the instrument will definitely change your perspective of the Morchang.

The Tailess Bass is a bit larger in stature than most Morchang frames, making it easier to grip for those longer harping sessions. Due to the hand forged nature of these Morchang, the decoration, sound, and size may vary, making each one its own unique piece of functional art!

Due to the hand forging, these instruments may vary slightly in appearance and sound. These morchang are closely tuned by the maker. For an instrument tuned up to the closest note, choose “Permanent Tuning Service” in the Shop and our in house harpsmith will tune to the closest note, and engrave the tuning on the back!
